Welcome to Derive!
Remember to be in the Word as much as possible. All your spare time could be spent studying the Word, and deriving from it what God wants for you, and what you can do for God. It will help you to develop a closer relationship with Him as well. If you desire to have a closer relationship with God, you also need to have more knowledge in what He wants for your life. Pray, and read the Word to know more and more. You will also be filled with more knowledge as you study the Word intently throughout your walk with God.
"But prove yourselves doers of the word, and not merely hearers who delude themselves." -James 1:22
How are you supposed to be a doer of the word if you don't know what the word says? So get into it.
"Then Jesus was led up by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil. And after He had fasted forty days and forty nights, He then became hungry. And the tempter came and said to Him, "If you are the Son of God, command that these stones become bread." But He answered and said, "It is written, 'Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that proceeds out of the mouth of God.'" -Matthew 4:1-4
Well there you have it. Jesus Himself said that we can't live on just bread, but we also need the word of God. So get into it.
"So Jesus was saying to those Jews who had believed Him, "If you continue in My word, then you are truly disciples of Mine; and you will know the truth, and the truth will make you free." -John 8:31-32
So if we believe in Him, and continue in His word, then we are truly disciples of Him. We will also know the truth, and it will make us free, free from Satan's grasp, free from the things that bear down on our relationship with God. Free!
